Your Refrigerator is Texting You

LG Electronics, the Korean consumer electronics and appliance giant, had a lot more than smart phones and 3D televisions to show off at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 5.   LG is planning on bringing the power of the Internet to your refrigerator, stove, and other household appliances.

LG's Thinq Smart System Uses Smart Meters to Save

LG's appliances can link up with your utility's "smart meter". The Thinq Smart system lets you see when peak and off-peak electrical usage times are from the appliances' own display systens, so that you can schedule your appliances to run when it's the least expensive, saving you money on your electric bill.
