Meet the 21st century version of a portable TV, and possibly the coolest product of the year. 3M's Streaming Projector is a one-pound, sandwich-sized DLP projector with built-in Wi-Fi to connect to Roku's more than 600 Internet channels such as Netflix, Amazon Instant Video and Hulu. Here's a tour.
The Roku service is supplied via the new Roku stick, which I told you about earlier this week. It jacks into the projector via HDMI, or can be removed and inserted into a compatible HDTV. You also can remove the stick and plug in some other HDMI device such as Blu-ray player or a videogame console. While the Roku service is free, most of its channels require separate subscriptions.
