Microsoft will debut the Windows 8 operating system for desktop and mobile devices October 26, and at last month's IFA show in Berlin served as a coming out party for the first W8 devices. This skinny (11.9mm thin) but solid (aluminum-magnesium unibody construction) ultrabook, amongst the thinnest on the market, sports a 13.3-inch screen protected by the same Corning Gorilla Glass that keeps the latest smartphone screens from getting scratched. As with all pending W8 computing devices, Acer announced no definite pricing or availability dates, but there'll be an 11-inch version as well.
