Hola! Greetings from Spain! I'm at a preview of Europe's largest consumer electronics show, IFA, (September 2-7 in Berlin). A dozen companies showed their wares, which included some appliances designed to minimize both electricity and water usage. When will they be coming to the U.S.? Hopefully soon.
I'm not a coffee drinker, so this is a bit beyond me – a 1,600 euro ($2,300) coffee maker? But I'm told coffee lovers love these pricey machines. WMF is a world-respected professional coffee maker maker (I'm told WMF is the coffee maker of choice on the QEII) and just recently started making four consumer models, this one targeted for the U.S. Thanks to its twin spigots, it will automatically produce around 30 cups of coffee (duh), cappuccino, espresso or latte macchiato (even plain hot water for tea), each in around a minute. Here's a video of it making latte macchiato – there's a pause between ingredients in the middle, so wait for it. I was told by nearby coffee connoisseurs it was heavenly.
