Before You Upgrade to iOS6 or Buy Your iPhone 5

Whether you are buying an iPhone 5 or upgrading to iOS6, (or both if you have an iPod or iPad as well), you want to take steps today to get ready. Upgrading to a new operating system (iOS) can wreak havoc on existing apps and there is a possibility of losing data. Likewise, if you are moving from your current iPhone to a new iPhone 5, you want your data and apps to be transferred to the new phone. Here's what you should do today.

Organize Your Apps for Easy Access

This is a good time to organize your apps.  Group together apps from certain categories by dragging them to a particular page or creating folders.  I have a folder for Photo editing apps. I've moved restaurant, trip advisor, and road trip apps to a travel page. To move apps, press on an icon until all apps wiggle. Drag an app to another page by scooting it far left or right.  Drag an app on top of another app to create a folder.
