Since Android phones come in many sizes, shapes and operating systems, there have been few accessories. But now that Android is the top smart phone format, a lot more Android add-ons are available. Here's a sampling, plus some other new gear such as a keyboard that turns an iPad into a laptop.
While you're cycling, it'd be nice to know where you are via GPS or control your music playback without fishing for your smart phone from a pocket or armband. Instead, you can mount your Android phone to a bicycle with this weatherproof hard-shell mounting case ($45). Bike Mount can pivot 360 degrees so you can view your phone's screen in portrait or landscape, features a welded touch-sensitive touchscreen membrane, and a clear protected opening on the back so you can shoot video or photos while riding. An included mounting bracket fits handlebars or stems with a diameter of 38 mm (1.5 inches) or smaller. Bike Mount is designed with an interchangeable inner liner to accommodate particular Android models with full access to buttons. Four versions of the liner are now available – for the Samsung Galaxy S II , the HTC Desire HD, the HTC EVO 4G, the HTC Inspire 4G , the Samsung Galaxy S and the LG Optimus 2X – with future versions planned.
