Among this week's coolest new gizmos is the first media stream to incorporate Google TV, a soft white LED light bulb, upgraded digital cameras from Panasonic and Samsung, a Sony A/V receiver with built-in Wi-Fi, and a thumb drive containing a minicomputer that turns your dumb HDTV into a smart HDTV.
Last week I told you about Sony's new Google TV set-top box, which turns your dumb TV into a smart TV. This week is the first media streamer to incorporate the Android-based Google TV, the Vizio Co-Star ($100), with support for both full HD 1080p streaming and 3D. This also is the first media player to offer on demand gaming – no more separate game console. In addition to pre-installed apps such as Amazon Instant Video and YouTube, you can download additional apps through the Google Play App Store.
