This week's gadget news isn't just about e-readers – the new Barnes & Noble Nook Color 2 and next week's release of Amazon's Kindle Fire. Lost in the e-book backwash are these half dozen gizmos, including a unique wristband+app from Jawbone that helps you live healthier and a psychedelic radio.
Built tough for on-the-go use, the 3.3-lb., the PDX-11 ($99.95) features a perforated steel grill and a sturdy chrome "grab it and go" roll bar handle, and pounds out sound through a 4-inch woofer that also handles midrange frequencies and a separate tweeter. The PDX-11 is available in four colors: white, dark blue, green and black, and runs on AC or for six hours on six AA batteries. There's also a standard 3.5mm headphone jack to connect a non-iPxxx music source.
