Top 10 Gadgets of the Year

Most year-end top gadget lists include the most advanced products and the most ground-breaking technologies. For me, the products of the year are those that have become an indispensible part of my everyday life. And so, in alphabetical order (until my top pick) here are my Top 10 Gadgets of 2011.

Novatel Verizon JetPack MiFi Mobile 4G Hotspot

I rarely leave home without this Wi-Fi-everywhere gadget. It turns Verizon's 4G LTE cellular signal into a speedy Wi-Fi connection that can supply wireless Internet connection for up to five users simultaneously for up to four hours – in other words, you become a walking hotspot. It's $50 after rebates with a two-year contract, and you choose between a 5 GB/$50 or 10 GB/$80 monthly plan; I chose the former.
