Like Motorola, Nokia has beaten Apple and iPhone 5 to the punch with two new smartphones running Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 (WP8) operating system, the Lumia 920 and the smaller Lumia 820. Both feature colorful styling, and WP8 packs fascinating new features lacking in both iOS and Android. Here's a closer look.
Not only do you get a larger screen on the 920, but you get Nokia's PureView camera technology. Nokia claims the 920 will be the first smartphone with optical image stabilization to reduce blurry photos (other cameras use some kind of digital stabilization, which can make the results look a bit unnatural). PureView also delivers startling bright and clear low-light images; the samples looked as if they'd been lit with movie lights.
