New Kitchens- Concepts for Dream Kitchens

Whirlpool has a unique approach to new kitchens at CES 2013. In these pics of kitchen designs of future dream kitchens, the company presented a concept for the future that would be an alternative to the traditional stove and refrigerator. Booth representatives explained that these concept designs are more about starting a conversation about the future kitchen than actual products for the future.

The Fireplace - Whirlpool's Stove of the Future

The Fireplace concept places cooking elements in the center of a round dining table. This idea of cooking communal meals over a central "fire" is replicated in the table'sa center area that has orange-lit rods topped with induction heating elements. When a pot or pan is placed on the rods, they mold to the pot's shape. The metals from the special pots interact with the metal on the rods to create heat and cook the food.
