What do you get for the geek who has everything (other than the new Amazon Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet)? Not even the toughest to shop for on your gift list have these gadgets. In fact, I have so many cool gizmos to overwhelm you with, I'm going to spread them over today and tomorrow.
Let's get one thing clear – this is NOT a USB drive. iTwin ($99) is a two-piece USB stick that enables you to access whatever is one your home PC from any laptop or remote PC. You stick the whole USB stick into your desktop PC. You drag files – or even the entire contents of your internal hard drive, regardless of size – onto it. What gets copied are actually shortcuts to these files, not the actual files. You then separate the two halves of the stick, leave one half in your desktop PC or Mac and stick the other half in your laptop. You can now access all those files on either PC, and any changes made are reflected at both ends. iTwin is password protected, so if you lose it the finder can't do anything with it. You also can buy a replacement for the missing half.
