New Canon Digital Camera: First 50x Optical Zoom

Now that all the smartphone and tablet heavyweights are almost finished pummeling each other (we still await the rumored Apple iPad Mini), let's see what some other gadget makers have been up to. Canon, for instance, recently unleashed a slew of new D-SLR and point-and shoot cameras.

Making odd shooting angles easier and more creative is 2.8-inch swing-out and swivel LCD screen. To help your zoom focusing are several clever zoom assist functions, including Zoom Framing Assist Seek – press a button, and the SX50 remembers your previous zoom position, zooms out to let you locate your subject, and zooms right back into the saved position when the button is released.
