Dropcam will send you a text or email if it detects motion, it's got night vision so can see what may be happening in a dark room, remote zoom, and you can even hear and talk to whomever's in the room. It's $149; for $10/month (no contract), you can store up to seven days of room recordings in the cloud; for $30/month you get 30 days of cloud DVR storage.
