If you own an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch you'll want to get the iOS 5.1 update that became available after the recent Apple press conference. iOS refers to the operating system on "i" devices--iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch that are often referred to as "iOS devices." If you have never updated your iPhone or iPad, there are a few tips that can make it easier for you.
Before you update you iPhone and/or iPad, be sure your iTunes is up to date. When you open iTunes, it should display a message that there is an iTunes update. Or, you may get a notice that you have Apple updates (on a PC) or Software Updates will appear on a Mac. On a Mac, click on "List Details" and you'll see that it is the iTunes update. On a PC, it will display what Apple software updates are available.
If iTunes is open, you will need to close it before running the update.
