Behind the wheel, I want no distractions from the multi-ton vehicles hurtling around me at 70 MPH. But increasingly, auto makers are loading their cars with advanced (and distracting?) electronics. Here are a few examples of hot new concept cars from the recent CES.

Hughes-powered mbrace2, which launches as standard equipment in this spring in MY13 SL-Class models, includes iPhone and Android-compatible telematics apps for safety, infotainment, personal assistance and vehicle care – all of which can be upgraded or services added via the cloud so nothing is ever out-of-date. Special Mercedes-Benz apps include Facebook, Google, Web browsing, stocks, Yelp! and news headlines, and provides remote access to more than 60 special features including Travel Zones/geo-fences, Curfew Minder, Driving Journal, Speed Alerts and Remote Horns & Lights – all accessible within the vehicle, via a smart phone, app or a PC.
