Behind the wheel, I want no distractions from the multi-ton vehicles hurtling around me at 70 MPH. But increasingly, auto makers are loading their cars with advanced (and distracting?) electronics. Here are a few examples of hot new concept cars from the recent CES.
Normally I don't like to drive in the clouds, but that's the aim Ford's electric hybrid (500-mile range), four-door, four-seat fastback gull-winged Evos concept car. Evos is designed to gather and deliver information from the cloud, so you only have to worry about getting from Point A to Point B (assuming you don't try and futz with the cloud during the trip). Evos also is a lot smarter than the "smart" TVs around the show floor – it can automatically play the same music or news program your were streaming in the house, or it'll heat/cool its interior because it knows the weather and your schedule and when you're leaving. After you leave, Evos can automatically close the garage door and switch off your home lights as you pull away and vice versa when you get home. Great, but where's the robot chauffeur?
