Heading toward the April 15th* tax deadline, it’s a good time for some tips to help with tax preparation, organization, filing and finding out when you will get your return. If you haven’t completed your taxes there are a number of apps and products to make it easier than ever. If you are done with your taxes, check out some of the ways that can make next year’s tax preparation easy for you or your tax accountant.

Once it’s time to start filling out forms, there is tax preparation apps, computer software, or online websites where you can fill in your information.
TurboTax and H&R Block offer all three options. Both companies have Android and iPad apps and computer software.
Which tax filing method should you choose?
Use computer software version of H& R Block if you are self-employed and have schedule C.
Use computer software to import reports from Quicken, Quickbooks or NeatDesk to TurboTax.
Use the H&R Block iPad app if you want to share information between the iPad app and computer software.
If you start your taxes in Turbo Tax for iPad or Android, you are committed to completing it there. The TurboTax computer software and iPad Turbo Tax cannot share information.
If you used TurboTax or TaxCut last year, H&R Block will import the information to make this year’s tax prep easier.
Online Tax Filing- There are a number of legitimate online filing website. To be sure you have found a trusted e-filing website, check out the list of free filing companies at the IRS website. You’ll also find a list of restrictions for online filing for each company.
