NeatWorks Organizes your Receipts to Help with Taxes

Whether you are self-employed, own your own business, or have business, medical or other deductions, you probably have a box full of receipts that you drag out to do your taxes.  Thermal printed receipts may have faded over the year.

The NeatWorks software for PC or Mac can organize your receipts and export tax reports to either Quicken, Quickbooks or an Excel Template where you can aggregate all of your tax deductions before exporting them to tax software. NeatWorks can export directly to Turbo Tax too. NeatWorks is compatible with a number of scanners, or you can use the NeatDesk Desktop scanner.

The IRS accepts scanned copies of receipts so you can throw that bag of receipts away. You must be able to reproduce and print the receipts on demand, so make sure you backup your scanned receipt files before throw away the paper copies.

If you have too many receipts from 2011, perhaps you can start scanning receipts to make next year’s taxes easier.
