This has been a fecund few weeks for new gadgets - I haven't seen more interesting and useful gear since the Consumer Electronics Show last January. I'm going to spend most of this week bringing you up-to-date on these latest drool-inducing gizmos. Today's batch is mostly travel and portable gear.

Tablets are cool - their sound isn't. But when watching a movie, there's no good place to place portable speakers. iLuv solves this speaker placement problem with its Mo'Beats ($100), stereo Bluetooth speakers mounted in a cradle that can accommodate any tablet such as iPad. The problem with tablet portable speakers is there's no good place to put 'em when watching a movie. In case you don't want to use Bluetooth, you can connect the case to your tablet via a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. It's powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery you recharge via a USB cable.
