Almost everywhere you turn in the convention halls and hotel ballrooms in Las Vegas, someone is hawking the greatest gizmo since the Runco Egg Scrambler. Here with a second half dozen of the wild and wacky from the show floor at this year's CES.
No, by stand-up I don't mean it's a comedian or member of the mob. Lexmark's Genesis S815 is a four-way printer (printer, copier, scanner, fax) that sits upright on a table top. It's a reflective glossy back with a 4.3-inch LCD screen to see what you're scanning.
Since it's upright, instead of the top flipping up it opens into a V-shape, revealing the scanning glass. It also is wireless, which means no cable connection to a PC; it connects via your home WiFi network.
While it looks cool and saves desktop real estate, what sets Genesis apart is pure speed – 30 color pages per minute, nearly twice as fast as most other printers.
It just hit online and physical retailers and is priced at $399.
