During the course of CES here in Las Vegas, more than 20,000 new products will be introduced, and here's a recap of all of them. Just kidding. Over the next few days, I'll bring you what I consider to be the most interesting, coolest or just plain weird from this year's show floor and environs.
Have trouble seeing the dial pad of your home phone? Having trouble hearing the folks at the other end of the line? Having trouble hearing the phone ring? Presenting Clarity's Fortissimo, a landline speakerphone for those of us being betrayed by our senses. You can see the large dial pad. That large circle to the right is a 95db – really loud – speaker, and around it is a red light that flashes when someone is calling. You don't even have to drag your bones up out of the easy chair to answer a call – just yell "answer" and then talk as you saunter over to it. It also comes with a small clip-on pendant that lets you remotely answer the Fortissimo and to scroll through the address book, and works with any Bluetooth earpiece. Clarity also offers concierge service to set-up Fortissimo and help you over any rough spots. It'll be available in March for around $500.
