We all have secrets, some innocent, some more or less nefarious than others. And we all have items on our smart phones we'd rather prying eyes not peruse, some salacious, perhaps, some as innocent as photos of a gift we're planning to give, harmless but easy-to-misconstrue text conversations with an old flame, photos you'd rather your children not see, even sensitive addresses and phone numbers.

But up until now, there's been no way to keep these private photos, videos, texts or contacts truly private.

AT&T initiated the new product demonstrations with its new Digital Life home automation and security system, demonstrated in a beautiful old home in the city's Garden district reminiscent of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Dubbed Digital Life, AT&T wants to make it cheap and easy for you to remotely control your lights, thermostat and door locks as well as monitor what's going your home via customizable iOS, Android or Windows Phone 7.5 apps.

To symphonic strains provided by the London Metropolitan Orchestra, Samsung yesterday grandly unveiled its third generation Galaxy S III (which many are simplifying as S3) smart phone.

Perhaps Samsung's presentation hype was a bit overboard. While most on-site observers admitted the S3 has a lot going for it, it's hardly a breakthrough of "holy mackerel!" proportions.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video has to be worth, what, 10 thousand words? 100 thousands? A million? I was never any good at math.

Anyway, with this word-to-video ratio in mind, we've been posting a few videos of late. These video presentations star, well, me, and are, shall we say, necessarily and blissfully brief (do you like to look at yourself on video?).
