When you get into a Ford, the MyFord Touch with Ford Sync can help you find gas, a restaurant and a movie. You might think of it as a date machine. Ford's car technology offers entertainment, navigation, links to your phone and controls important car functions. And all you have to do is talk to it and tell it what you want. 

Actually, there's more to controlling the MyFord Touch than just talking to it. The MyFord Touch is far from intuitive. You'll need to know how to use voice commands, the touchscreen menus, and steering wheel controls.

Not every gadget is designed for everyone. This week we have some admittedly niche gadgets - a radio/light you'd want if you were trapped on a desert island, a camera designed to shoot astronomical phenomena, an iPad stand made for musicians, a portable hard drive for Mac users, and more.

Behind the wheel, I want no distractions from the multi-ton vehicles hurtling around me at 70 MPH. But increasingly, auto makers are loading their cars with advanced (and distracting?) electronics. Here are a few examples of hot new concept cars from the recent CES.
