When you need to leave the movie theater, use the RunPee app to see what you missed.

The RunPee app is for when you absolutely must take a break during a movie. Let's face it, for many of us, sitting through an over two-hour movie can be challenging. Still, you don't want to leave the theater and miss an essential scene. RunPee has solved this problem.

RunPee lists the current movies and suggests the best times to leave when you won't miss any crucial plot points. Start the movie timer in the app and it will vibrate to alert you when it's a good time to make a dash to the restroom. If you don't want to run the timer, each break also lists scene action or dialog that is your cue for when it's time to leave the movie theater along with how long you have before you need to return.

Once you leave the restroom and return to the theater, click on "what happens during peetime" to learn what jokes, important action, or plot points you missed while you were gone. It is recommended that you read this information before returning to the theater so you don't disturb other movie-goers.

RunPee defaults to a list of current movies that have been in the theater in the past six months but can be changed in the settings to include movies for the past 24 months. There is a button to tap for classic movies like Star Wars, Alien, or Die Hard. Use RunPee if you are having movie night at home with friends and don't want to pause the video.

There is a list of "peeons" who see the movies. Because they must see the movie first, movies may not be listed until 5pm EST on opening day. Dan Florio, the developer says that the hardest movie to get peetimes was Inception. He had to see the movie three times before he understood it well enough to suggest break times.

The RunPee app lists more than break times.

If you come into a movie late, you can click on "Running Late?" to see a synopsis of the first five minutes of the film.

RunPee also alerts you when there are scenes after the credits begin at the end of a film. To keep audiences in the theaters, some movies will add crucial or fun scenes during or at the end of the credits. When you look up a movie scroll to the end of the break list to learn if there are extra scenes during the credits so you don't leave early and miss them.

The app also shows detailed ratings of the story, humor, acting, action, soundtrack and special affects along with Rotten Tomatoes Info. You can add your own ratings too. Another link takes you directly to the page where you can purchase the soundtrack to the movie.

While the idea behind RunPee is amusing, it is a useful app. It's available free from iTunes or the Android market.
