Netflix on the iPad--not an April Fool

Netflix has announced an app that will allow users to stream videos straight to their iPad.

April 3 is the day that Apple's iPad becomes available for purchase. It's also the day that Netflix is launching yet another Internet streaming movie coup—movies delivered to the iPad.

Netflix customers can already stream movies over the Internet to their PCs, to some digital video recorders, and to the Wii, Playstation, and XBox 360 game consoles.  But as AppAdvice reports, a new free iPad app will allow Netflix customers to watch movies on the iPad's 9.5-inch screen—anywhere they have Internet access.

The Netflix app isn't the only streaming video effort for the iPad. Hulu also plans to offer video-on-demand to the iPad as a subscription service.
