There are a few "must have" iPhone apps out of the latest apps for iPhone that I downloaded this past year. I created this list of my top 10 best iPhone apps of 2012 that are sure to become some of your favorites too. Each app includes a link to my original story that describes the app's features and why it is useful or fun.
- Fast Customer - this is the number one app on my list. If, like me, you hate waiting on hold when you call customer service for anything from retail stores to utility companies to government agencies, this will become one of your favorites too. Tap on a company that you want to call and on the department (if listed) with whom you want to speak. The app will call you when a human being gets on the line.
- Red Laser Barcode Price Scanner- Scan the UPC, a QR code, say or shoot a picture of a product and Red Laser will tell you the best price for that item locally and online. It's like having a personal shopper/techie with you at all times.
- Photo for iPhone/iPad- The mobile app version of iPhoto is one of the easiest ways to edit and enhance your photos. With the iPad app, you may never edit your photos on your Mac again.
- Draw Something- This app became the biggest game since "Words with Friends." Take turns drawing a clue for another player to guess the word. Click on the link to find out why Draw Something is so much fun.
- SongPop - This "Name That Tune" app is equally addictive as Draw Something. Choosing music genres or eras, challenge other players to be the fastest to name all the songs or artists in each round.
- Gyft - This app is a virtual wallet for all of your store or online gift cards. The best part of this app is how easy it is to send or receive a gift card and redeem it at the store without needing a physical card.
- Fandango and MovieTickets- Do you still wait in line to buy tickets at the movie theater? If so, you need a movie ticket app to buy your tickets in advance. Some theaters take one of these apps but not the other.
- RunPee- Once you start watching a movie at the movie theater, you don't want to miss any important scenes. RunPee will let you know the best times to take a break and what has happened while you were out of the theater.
- Life360 - This free GPS app keeps track of your family's whereabouts and alerts all members in the event of an emergency.
- The New Google Maps- Google Maps for iPhone has lots of cool new features including route options, spoken turn-by-turn directions, finger gesture control, and street view.
What apps do you use most and consider "must have" apps?
