Create online wish lifts with Amazon Wish List anywhere on the web.

It's easy to create gifts lists or an online wish list using the Amazon Wish List button for your web browser's toolbar. If you have an Amazon account, you've probably seen the button to "Add to Wishlist" while browsing the Amazon store. Adding items to your wish list makes eliminates the need to search for an item again when you are ready to buy it. The Amazon wish list is not limited to items you find in the Amazon store. You can put together a list of products from any website that has a product for sale.

Sharing Amazon Wish Lists

Wishlists can be public, shared (link only) or private. Shared lists can be sent to family members or friends who are collaborating with you to buy a gift together.  To let others know exactly what you want for the holidays, a birthday, or other occasion, a shared Amazon wish list becomes your own personal gift registry.  If you make the list public, friends, co-workers and family can find your list by doing a search on the Wish List page.  Unlike the group shopping features of Google Shopping, others cannot add to the wish list.

How to add the Amazon Wish List button

To add items to your wish list from websites outside of the Amazon store, you'll need to add the Amazon wish list button to your web browser's tool bar (the top of your browser). On the wishlist page find "Wish List Tips" at the bottom of the left column.  Click on "Add items to your List from anywhere."  The page displayed will have a button to install Amazon Wish List to your browser. This feature is available for Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome, and iPad.

Adding to a Wish List

Once installed, any time you visit a web site with an item for sale, you will see an annoying banner that asks if you want to add it to the wish list. Close the banner if you don't want to add it. But if you want to put it on your Amazon Wish List, click on the Amazon smiley "a" button at the top of your web browser. Add it to a specific wish list that you've created and add a note to tell others your thoughts about the item. If Amazon has the same item, it will offer you the matched item to buy using the Amazon store.

Sweepstakes ends this week

If you act fast, Amazon is holding a contest. Each time you click on an item to add to your wishlist from another website, you will be entered to win a $2500 Amazon gift card. The sweepstakes end December 2.
