A Fitness Gadget that Scales

A scale with WiFi uploads your weight to the Web, so you can track your progress.

If you're looking for more ways to help you track your progress on your fitness goals, your best bet may be a scale.  But this isn't just any scale—it's an Internet-enabled scale.

I've been keeping tabs on my exercise performance with RunKeeper. But the measurement of the calories I burn are dependent on me accurately keying in my weight for each walk, run, or ride. If I had a Withings scale, all I'd have to do is step on it, and my statistics would automatically be updated.

The scale, which can connect to your home network over WiFi, can be set up for up to 8 different users.  Not only does it measure your weight, but it calculates body weight, fat and lean mass, and your Body Mass Index (BMI). The results can be uploaded to a password-protected website, or to your iPhone.
